Former "One Life to Live" television star and 4 time Emmy nominated talk show host Ty Treadway was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. The youngest of seven siblings, Ty was named after baseball legend Ty Cobb. After high school Ty received a scholarship for soccer and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the College of New Jersey. Ty went to work for the New Jersey State Legislature as an accountant and a computer systems engineer gaining 8 years of valuable experience in auditing and computer network development. During this time Ty started acting and modeling on the side, appearing in and on the cover of several national magazines including GQ.
In 2000, after several supporting film roles, Ty landed the role of Dr. Colin MacIver on the ABC soap opera "One Life to Live." Ty's heartfelt portrayal of Colin quickly became a fan favorite before his character was eventually killed off, but because of the incredible support and dedication of Ty's millions of fans, he soon returned to the show as Colin's nicer twin brother, Troy MacIver. Ty has appeared on "One Life to Live" on and off from 2000 - 2008.
Due to his enormous popularity in the daytime community, in June 2002, Ty was asked to host his own talk show, "Soap Talk" on the SoapNet cable channel alongside his co-host Lisa Rinna. Pulling double duty on "SoapTalk" and "One Life to Live," he tirelessly commuted from New York to Los Angeles to tape both shows each week. His hard work was rewarded with numerous awards including 4 Daytime Emmy nominations for Best Talk Show Host alongside such distinguished company as "Regis and Kelly," "The View," "Dr. Phil" and "Ellen DeGeneres."
During this time, Ty and long time girlfriend Monica got engaged at the Eiffel Tower. They married in 2003 atop a volcano on the island of Santorini, Greece. Two years later they welcomed their first child, Samantha, in February 2005. Their second child, a son named Ryder, was born March 7, 2006.
In March 2006 the series "American Idol Extra" debuted, featuring Treadway as host. Treadway interviewed various American Idol personalities, including Chris Daughtry, Katherine McPhee and eventual American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks. He also chatted with such music legends as Kenny Rogers, Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, David Foster and Andrea Bocelli.
In April 2007, Ty was personally chosen by television great Merv Griffin himself, creator of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy," to host Merv's new nationally syndicated game show "Merv Griffin's Crosswords." Merv and Ty quickly bonded over their mutual love for Real Estate investment. It was through the daily mentorship of Merv Griffin that Ty was exposed to the world of high finance Real Estate. Merv Griffin was the incredibly successful owner of the legendary Beverly Hilton hotel, Resorts International Casinos, and Paradise Island, Bahamas. Through his friendship with Merv, Ty was exposed to such influential people as Nancy Reagan, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Larry King.
During this time Ty and family commuted back and forth from Santa Monica, California to their second home in Frisco, Texas. In 2008, the Treadway family fell in love with the charm, beauty and family-first environment of Frisco and decided to make the quickly expanding town their primary home. After 10 years of successful residential and commercial Real Estate investing throughout the United States, Ty joined his wife Monica in opening the family business, Treadway Realty. Monica Treadway was born and raised in the small East Texas town of Mt. Vernon, home of Cowboy great Don Meredith. In high school Monica became a Texas state softball champion and is a current Texas state record holder. After high school Monica attended the University of North Texas where she graduated cum laude earning her bachelor's degree while studying Business and Marketing. It was during this time that Monica earned the title of Miss North Texas USA and went on to compete in the Miss Texas USA pageant. Her appearance there helped launch her very successful television and international modeling career. Among Monica's numerous television credits is an appearance on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Monica is very thankful to be able to utilize her notoriety to benefit some of her favorite charities. As a "Wish Grantor" for "Make-A-Wish Foundation," Monica's dedication and devotion took her into some of the roughest neighborhoods in Los Angeles. While in the entertainment business Monica was able to hone her marketing and negotiating skills while building a powerful network of influential friends. It was one of these friends, Ryan Seacrest of "American Idol," who introduced her to her future husband, Ty Treadway. After a 3 year romance, Ty proposed to Monica on top of the Eiffel Tower. One year later they were married on a volcano on the island of Santorini, Greece. They are now happily married and living in the beautiful city of Frisco, TX with their 2 young children, Samantha and Ryder. During their 10 year relationship the Treadways invested extensively in both residential and commercial real estate throughout the United States. It was through investing that Monica was first introduced to the Real Estate profession.
